May 22, 2009 - Happy Birthday! We had a great time together celebrating Kib's Mom's birthday as a family. We ate wonderful food and the girls then played Canasta for hours. I hate to brag, but I was the winner. After playing games we went out for ice cream all together. It was so much fun having a night of good food and company.

Police Academy Graduate!
It was a great group!
Bonnie Morrow, Julie McKay and Me!
Well, it was Citizens Police Academy, but a blast. The Provo Police Department sponsors this academy once a year. You go to classes for 8 weeks, one night each week for a 4 hour class. I was dreading that I had made this commitment to be quite honest and I really had to work to make it at all, but it was so much fun once I got there. Here is just a little about some of the highlights. We hand cuffed each other, learned some self defense moves, learned how to use the stick (ALP) they carry, etc. We actually took fingerprints off glasses, doors, etc. and learned to gather evidence. Some of the people in class got Tasered just to see how it felt (I didn't). I can tell you that it didn't feel good just by seeing others go through it. We rode in a swat van, learned about the wall of light and learned how to use a lot of their equipment. We learned about the gangs in the area and quite honestly I had no idea there were so many. There is so much more we did I can't even begin to tell you, but if anyone is interested I can set you up for next year. The important thing is somehow I graduated, even with all the classes I missed and was late for. It was GREAT. I would do it again in a heart beat.
Timpview Tennis takes State!
The John Pearce Fan Club!
It was a great two days up at Liberty Park in Salt Lake cheering on the Timpview Tennis Team for their 7th straight State Title. The parents brought tons of food. All the families and friend spent the day eating, cheering, visiting and getting to know one another. It was a great team atmosphere and we are already looking forward to state next year.
Good job Timpview #1 in the State!
The Timpview Tennis team has a tradition of playing tennis with their families and having dinner together the night before the State Tournament. It is a great tradition and we had a lot of fun, but we didn't do very well of moving up on the courts. Jacob tried to get his Uncle Brad to be his partner and I am sure if that would have happened it would be a different story, but he had to settle for me and Kib. He started out playing with his Dad and things weren't going so well so he traded for me and they didn't get much better. We loved the view from the last court and enjoyed the company even more. We are going to start now practicing for next year.
Happy Mother's Day!
I just wanted to pay tribute to my fabulous Mom's this Mother's Day. I don't think you can fully appreciate a Mom until you become one. The older I get the more I appreciate the mother's in my life for all their time, patience, love, energy, and sacrifice. I hope to be half as good of mother as my mother's are to me and my children. They are both incredible ladies that I look up to and admire in so many ways.
Mom
1. She taught me family first. She is always there willing and able to do anything and everything she can to lend support and love. We know if we need her she will be there whether it is driving kids, cleaning, or helping with some crazy project.
2. She loves the gospel. She has a strong testimony and loves to go to church each Sunday. She is a great example of magnifying her callings. She puts her whole heart into everything she does.
3. She is always willing to share her things and have whole groups over to her house. She never complains about the work or the mess. She is patient and fun to be around so kids and adults of all ages loves to hang out with her. She can outlast the grand kids most nights. She never stops.
4. She has taught me how to love unconditionally. She has always loved me and my family no matter what we may do, say or in spite of the dumb decisions we make.
Mom Jensen
1. She is a hard worker. She loves to spend hours in the garden, on the computer doing genealogy, cleaning house or working at the Temple and conference center.
2. She loves to play with the kids. She will always leave the adults and spend
some time with the kids and make them feel special and loved.
3. She loves the gospel. She loves studying and learning and is always trying to improve.
She is preparing to serve a mission and will be dedicating a year to the Lord.
4. She raised a great son.

Stephanie made it to Jerusalem!!
Stephanie left to Jerusalem on April 28 for study abroad at the BYU Jerusalem Center. We miss her already, but are so excited and jealous all at the same time. We have made it a just over a week (8 days) without her. WOW! If you want to hear more about what she is doing check out her blog. She will be coming home on August 14. Only 100 more days. Boy, that seems like a long time maybe I shouldn't have figured that out.
