A WEEK IN PARADISE!

Day 1 We got to the airport early then had to wait for hours because our flight was delayed.

When we arrived in Cabo within minutes we knew we were in Mexico. We saw bull walking along the road. We had people trying to sell us anything and everything. It took forever to get our rental cars, but when we arrived at the condo's they were beautiful and everything was well worth all the waiting around. The condo was right on the beach and had a private swimming pool. It was gorgeous. We knew this trip was going to be a little piece of paradise.


After unpacking a little and relaxing we went into town to find some food. We found a little taco shop called "El Gran Pastor". It was just a little taco shop and was only $5 for two of us for dinner. The food was amazing. We actually ended up coming back to this shop again it was so yummy.

Thrifties Ice Cream brought back memories. We used to go there every week with our Grandpa growing up. We loved the square scoops. You would think because they were square it would be easier to balance, but Ali was talented enough to drop hers almost every week growing up and had to get a new one. Luckily somethings you do grow out of.

Day 2
The Sheraton was right next to the condo and had a wonderful beach and pool. The best part of it all was Edgar. He set up our chairs and umbrella's and got our spot all arranged for a relaxing day in the sun. The girls all just wanted a day to relax before doing anything much. We were exhausted from the end of school with our kids. The boys were a little, some a lot, bored but everyone lived and it was a great day.

After a while we decided to go look for the little taco shop we had heard about on the 7th hole. Well, needless to say we should have gotten a little more information. We wandered around not knowing which golf course looking for a taco shop on one of the 7th holes. Nobody seemed to know where it was. Nelson got hungry and went to eat somewhere else but the rest of us continued the search.

We did finally find it. It was on the 9th hole, which would have saved us a lot of time if we had known. It was worth all the looking. The tacos were fantastic and actually ended up being pretty close to our condo.

We went in search of Cabo Wabo's for dinner. Another place we had heard about. After finally finding it we ended up eating at a little taco shop right outside that was really good. The serving were huge, we had music playing, and really good company. As we wandered through town little kids were always trying to sell you something. Cindi and Dad seemed to buy one of everything. Who knows how much they spent $1 at a time, but we know it was a lot.

Day 3

We took a glass bottom boat out to the Arches, Divorce Beach and Lover's Beach. The sea lions were all hanging out at the arches, the waves were huge and scary at Divorce Beach and everything was wonderful at Lover's Beach.

After a little bit we swam over to Pelican Beach to snorkel around the reef. Mom, Dad and Kib stayed on the beach to hold down the fort. There were tons of fish. Brad and Nelson dove down into huge school's of fish. All of the sudden a huge current came up and we were swimming as hard as we could and not making any progress. It was hard to get into shore. I actually had to have help at one time getting around the point of the reef by Nelson and Brad. We finally made it in to shore and hiked a little then we had to go back out and swim. It was exhausting, but we made back.

On the way home a man had an iguana he gave me to hold. It was huge and had the softest skin. Next we ate at another taco shop across the street from Costco we had heard so much about. The shrimp taco's and pineapple pina' were delicious. We came back here again also since it was so good.

After some swimming, reading and relaxing we went back into town for dinner. We went to the most famous restaurant in Cabo called "The Office". The food was delicious, the atmosphere amazing, the view incredible, the music pleasant and the company great. It was a little more expensive then the little taco shops we had been eating at, but worth every penny.

Day 4

You would think that ten smart adults after reading the sign in the parking lot that said "The security of this parking depnds on its gratuities" might think twice and go to another beach. What can I say it just made the adventure better. Only a few minutes after getting out of the cars Ali got stung by a huge bee. She was pretty tough. Then we went snorkeling. Kirstin and Brad got bit by man-a-war, which is a small blue jelly fish with really long little string like things that attach to you and sting. Poor Ali with her bee sting and Kirstin with her about five inch long sting totally got over looked because Brad had huge welts all over his back. When we went to the lifeguard stand to get some windex or vinegar to put on there was a lady with about a two inch sting crying hysterically. It took all five men to take care of her and needless to say even Brad who was covered didn't get much attention. Luckily they go away pretty quickly and they were both feeling better by evening.

That evening Dad took us to his favorite restaurant in Cabo called "Zippers". It was good and was nice to have a break from Mexican as much as we love it.

Brad and Dave had fun eating jalepeno's they tricked Kirstin into eating some and she ended up being really tough and hardly noticed.

Day 5

Well we had teased Ali about over reacting to a bee sting, but by the next morning it was swollen huge and we insisted she go straight to the hospital and get it checked out. She had red going all down her hand and looked like it was infected. The doctor did say it was serious and made her take it easy and put a huge syringe or something into it. It is a little scarry being treated when you have no idea what is being put into your body. She starting getting better pretty quick and we were able to continue partying. We went and did a little shopping then went to "Romeo and Juliet's" a restaraunt Ginger had recommended. At first we were wondering why we were going out for Italian in Cabo. After taking one bite we knew why. It was amazing.

Day 6

We spent another day on our favorite little beach at the Sheraton with Edgar setting it all up. In the evening we went into town and did a little more shopping and then went horseback riding on the beach. It was so much fun. You could actually control the horses and trott a little which made is so much fun. By the time our ride ended we were already sore and boy did we feel it the next day.

Day 7

We decide to go deep sea fishing. We had so much fun but deep sea fishing was not the highlight of the trip. It was fun to see how it was down and experience it, but we only caught one fish. However we loved the whole trip. We saw hundreds of sting ray jumping in the water. I had never seen that before and didn't even know they could jump. We had tons of dolphins swimming around our boat as we traveled. I have never seen so many dolphins in all my life. They had tons of babies with the moms. They were so close Nelson could almost touch them with him hand. Nelson, Ali and Dad fed the birds scraps of fish bait when we were done. Dad learned it isn't very wise to fead them out of your hand. His whole hand ended up in one of the birds mouths. Luckily he only got a little cut.

Day 8

The last day was sad and happy all together. We played games, walked on the beach, swam a little. It was sad saying good bye to the beach, the sun and the condo, but something better was waiting at home. We could hardly wait to get back to our kids. Our week was a almost perfect. The only thing that would have made it better was having our kids there.
